Challenges in Rare Flora Translocations.
22 July, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Dr Christine Allen will be presenting the results from her PhD research work on translocation experiment of the critically endangered Acacia awestoniana and Banksia ionthocarpa. Both of these species are endemic to the Stirling Ranges National Park region. These are only two of many rare Southwest species that are very sensitive to ever increasing landscape and habitat fragmentation. Supported by Department of Parks and Wildlife Christine’s research aims to understand how to increase the viability of rare species populations by seedling translocation.
