New Ways of Plant Propagation

You are warmly invited to join us for a hands-on experience in new plant propagation techniques.
Dr Tony Scalzo, our guest expert for the night, will demonstrate us how to use the novel breeding approaches to develop new wax flower cultivars for floriculture, amenity plantings and home gardens.
Dr Tony Scalzo completed his PhD is 1986 and worked in the medical research field for over 25 years. He was a former President of the Friends of Kings Park and has also been a key organiser of the Growing Friends group of the Friends of Kings Park for over 15 years.
For the past 4 years he has been employed at Kings Park where he is working on plant breeding project aimed at introducing novel flower colours into Geraldton Wax plants for the cut-flower industry and amenity planting using novel laboratory-based approaches and this will be the focus of his presentation.
The presentation will start at 8 pm with “Show & Tell” preceding the talk at 7:45pm.
