Bushland Reserves of Armadale Booklet – Concept to Publication

Our invited guest speaker this month is Roger Harington from the Armadale Branch who will talk about the creation of the “Bushland Reserves of the City of Armadale” booklet from concept to publication. The City of Armadale has numerous and varied natural reserves, from a few hectares in urban areas to over 600 ha on the fringes of the City, from the sandplains to the hills. In March 2022, while preparing for the Perth Garden Festival, Roger found it frustrating that there was no, or limited, printed material about any of the reserves suitable for the “lay person”. The challenge was to gather the information, pictures, source funding, graphic design, printing…. all within 7 months!

Perth Branch AGM

Preceding Roger’s presentation will be the Perth Branch AGM. Whilst we keep our AGM quite succinct, we are looking for new committee members and encourage interested parties to either attend or nominate beforehand (contact perth.branch@wildflowersocietywa.org.au). Being on the committee allows you to contribute to the running of the branch and what gets presented to the public each month.

Doors open at 7.45 pm for an 8 pm start with a $3 donation giving you entry into the night’s door prize.
