Ron Johnstone: Birds of the Houtman Abrolhos

Talk by Ron Johnstone (former Curator of Birds, WA Museum) on the Birds of the Houtman Abrolhos, a chain of 192 islands & rocks lying 60 to 80km off the mid-west coast of Western Australia. To date 105 species of bird have been recorded on the islands or nearby seas. Ron will talk about some of the seabirds, shoreline birds and land birds and the effects of humans and introduced animals have had since the mid-1800s.
