Public Liability Insurance Obligations
The Society’s Public Liability Insurance covers members and the public attending WSWA organised events or WSWA rented, leased or occupied premises.
The standard Public Liability policy (premium paid by the Management Committee) covers:
- events and fundraising, where the daily attendance does not exceed 500 (note that this is the total for the entire event, not the number on the premises at any one time).
- Society-organised and supervised excursions limited to one day in duration and not requiring overnight stay.
Events where daily attendance is likely to exceed 500, and Society-organised excursions that go for more than one day are not covered by default, but can be covered if the insurer is notified and may incur an additional premium to be paid for by the organiser; this should be taken into account by when budgeting.
Enquiries to the WSWA Office.

Use of Native Flora for Ceremonial Occasions
The Wildflower Society of WA provides the following policy for all government organisations in Australia – federal, state and local – for the use of WA flora for those official occasions where a floral tribute is deemed appropriate. These guidelines have been informed by those established by the then Australian Society for Growing Australian Plants (ASGAP), now Australian Native Plants Society (Australia) – ANSP(A) – for the bouquets for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

The Society’s environmental policies can be accessed from the Conserve section of the website.
