Sub-Committees of the Management Committee

Subcommittees are established by and report to the WSWA Management Committee.

Only some subcommittees have a dedicated page on the website. Members of subcommittees are appointed by the Management Committee following nomination by the Society’s ordinary members at the Annual General Meeting.

Sub-Committees are operated by volunteer members for the benefit of the Wildflower Society to help us Know, Grow, Conserve and Enjoy our WA native flora.

Members are encouraged to join any of these committees to support the Society’s aims.

Programs

Two programs are managed by the Society:

Plant Survey Program – is a program of flora surveys as set out in the ‘Bushland Plant Survey’ booklet.

Funding for flora surveys is normally secured though community and related grants and or funds raised through plant survey methodology workshops.

Priority Flora Survey Program – is a program of targeted surveys for plant species and other taxa listed as Priority under the Conservation Codes for Western Australian Flora.

The aim of these surveys is to provide sufficient survey effort to enable nominations to the Threatened Flora Scientific Committee for listing the taxa as Threatened, or to recommend to the Species and Communities Branch of the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions that the taxon be removed from the Priority Flora list.
