Mandurah and Districts Branch – Pop Out Bush Block Walk 4 at Island Point – 17-10-26

A Wonderful Walk Among Our Native Plants – By Mary Clayton

On Saturday Oct 17th our President, Jenny White, led a fantastic walk at Island Point Reserve, concentrating on 10 of our native plants. We had an impressive roll up of 19 people.

The native plant life of Island Point Reserve has been catalogued as having over 200 species so Saturday was a great start for inexperienced and experienced nature lovers. The format of the walk was very popular with the focus on 10 plants and those with more knowledge were able to educate us all.

The chosen plants ranged from large Banksias to tiny Stylidiums. Enjoy the photos of the 10 chosen plants plus one of our group.

A great walk, good company and plenty of native wildflowers to get to know and enjoy – what more could we ask for?

The cake and orange break was much appreciated. Thanks, WSWA Mandurah and Districts Branch. A big thankyou to Andrew for his photo contribution. If you have photos to share email to:
