On Sunday 24th November 2025, the Darling Range Branch were excited to launch our fabulous new book ‘Plants of Kalamunda’. The launch was held at the Kalamunda Community Centre with a keynote talk by Professor Kinglsey Dixon and talks by WSWA President Roger Harington and the Mayor of Kalamunda Margaret Thomas JP. We were also able to thank the amazing Lesley Brooker who compiled the book and was central to the successful completion of the project.
The book has been more than two years in the planning and involved thousands of hours of volunteer time to research and write. The A5 book has 295 pages of full colour original photographs and descriptions of each plant to assist bushwalkers and wildflower enthusiasts to identify plants found in the Kalamunda area and beyond.
Over 70 Kalamunda locals and members of the Wildflower Society helped us celebrate the launch and shared afternoon tea following the launch.
