Lisa Edwards is an Environmental Scientist and a Founder and Director of WA Loves Nature. She leads community‑driven conservation and urban biodiversity projects across Perth. Lisa specialises in making ecology accessible, with a focus on native plants, pollinators and the small species that hold our ecosystems together. She is passionate about empowering communities with practical, science‑based actions that help restore habitat in everyday places.
Lisa will talk about the critical relationship between WA butterflies and their host plants — the specific endemic plant species their caterpillars rely on for food. While we often focus on nectar filled wildflowers for the adult butterflies, it’s the larval host plants that ultimately determine whether our butterfly species can persist in our landscapes.
