Eremophila are commonly known as poverty bushes, emu bushes and native fuchsias and are found in every mainland state of Australia with the bulk being found in the southern Pilbara, Gascoyne, Murchison, Goldfields, Interior and Nullarbor in Western Australia. There are also quite a few species found in the Western Australian Wheatbelt and two Eremophila glabra subspecies (subsp. albicans and subsp. chlorella) grow naturally in the Perth area.
